Bangkok Trip 2012 (15-18 June)

I took out the stitches from my gums today! I was really afraid that it would be a painful process because I forgot to Google whether it'd be painful or not, haha. Google is your best friend guys!! For the record it wasn't painful at all, blink of an eye and then it was done. Yay!

Here is BKK day 3 and day 4 combined! Because I'm lazy like that~
Before I start... 2 pics taken on day 2 I forgot to post previously.

Tip from a friend, bring a reusable bag along when shopping!
Very useful I just dumped everything inside happily lol
Baby got this top from Uniqlo BKK!
Crazy guy didn't want any fake branded/no brand clothes -_-
(Taken when we were waiting for the BTS back to the hotel!)
Day 3

The third day we went to Baiyoke, MBK, and then back to Platinum mall as the last destination (as usual!)
Had breakfast in the hotel first, and we had the same food from what we had the past day.

Looks very yummy right?! Especially the fried rice, it was SO YUMMY I shared with bb and we went for a second round!
The scrambled egg with cheese was really yummy too! I miss BKKBKKBKK :(
Oh yeah we also carried with us a bottle of water which the hotel gave. They replenish it everyday!

First destination of the day was Baiyoke! Because I read online that the area sells really nice and cheap luggages so we tried our luck. When we reached Baiyoke Garment Centre, a lot of shops were not opened. Asked around and found out that they are actually not open for business on Sunday :(

But still, Baiyoke is not a bad place to shop! We bought clothes for his dad, my dad and my brother at the open area market! It got really sunny and hot so we were out of Baiyoke within an hour!

Wanted to hail a cab to MBK, and the cab driver quoted like THB200? When I looked away he said he will get me to MBK for free (given if I visit a jewellery shop nearby). In my mind I was like 'I read about this before!!!' haha so I declined and bb said we'll just try and walk then!

We actually walked from Baiyoke to Platinum mall without knowing! I find that we are always walking aimlessly but always end up somewhere we've been before/at our destination :) Anyway we were looking for a luggage and there were many shops from along our way too! And from opposite Platinum mall, we hailed a cab to MBK!

Had the Cheesy Chicken Balls (aka CCB) lol~
Quite yummy, why Singapore don't have?!
Aim was to get a few phone covers in MBK but the place was so messy and prices quoted were all over the place... in the end we got none. We went to MBK for phone covers but left empty handed! Think we were lucky because we found NaRaYa next to MBK! (we didn't plan to shop at NaRaYa at all) Got a really nice bag for his mum, and for myself I got 2 pouches! Very cheap!! :)

Took a cab from MBK and went back to sweet old Platinum mall!
Shopped for a LITTLE while before we got hungry and then to the top level for Jap food!

Wanted to take a pic of my purchases. Fail shot so it shall remain small.
Bb in charge of ordering! :)
I had the salmon set, and him the katsu don set, plus an additional Gyoza to share.
Before and after! I must say, their food is really cheap+yummy. Approx SGD20 for all these!
I didn't expect much before we ate but after the meal both bb and I were raving about this restaurant!
And after the meal at Fuji, we slooooowwwwly made our way down to the first level for dessert! Slooooowwwwly because I wanted to get more clothes on the way down haha! Can I go to BKK again anytime soon? Greatest overseas trip ever!

Here is a clearer shot of Swensen's menu! At the top is the waffle sundae I L-O-V-E-D.
(You can change ice cream if you want, so I changed it to chocolate!)
I can guess what he was thinking.
"Sian. Come to Bangkok only to accompany this girl shop. Sian. Sigh. Sian."
NaRaYa over at MBK! And the additional gyoza I decided to order last min for take away cos it was too yums!
Also at the bottom is the totebag I brought along especially to dump all my purchases in! Love it!
This time I improved a little. Remembered to take a pic after only having 2 mouthful of the waffle.
We left Platinum mall a little while later. Not before forgetting to pack some food back to the hotel though! The food is really, I must say it one more time... yummy and cheap. What's not to love?!

Took this pic and whatsapp it to my sis at night. (Almost) all of my purchases over the past 3 days!
I actually calculated and I spent nearing to SGD350 for clothes, and dividing by the no. of clothes I bought, each pc only
cost approx SGD7-8? Not very proud of it cos 7-8 is quite ex but give me one more chance I'll do better!! :D
VERY yummy gyoza, seafood fried rice, and bb had the same boring but yummy curry chicken rice.
Life is complete. Lover by my side, having such deliiiiicious supper.
Watching the movie we downloaded from the hotel's reception while having supper.
(They provided us with an iPod to download any movies we wanted!)
Day 4

Last day in BKK and we had to check out at 12pm, so we slept till 11, showered and then packed our luggage! (I was the only one packing actually while bb was dressing up, slowest person to get ready is him!) But I wasn't complaining because there was nothing much for him to pack, most of the stuff were mine :D

Gave the breakfast a miss and we went down to the lobby and checked out! Left our luggage with the reception because I wanted to head back to Plat. mall for moreeeeee hehe.

Took some last min pics of the (messy) hotel room. I love you, Tenface Bangkok!! I will be back!!
Last pics before leaving the room.

This is how the reception look like! The hotel was very modern looking and black was the main colour?
Waiting for the cab to pick us up to Platinum mall!

Reaching Plat mall!! :)
Had Mcdonalds for our brunch.
Tried their chicken wings and chicken pie too!
We went up to the floor selling bags! Basically the whole floor is filled with shops selling luggages, bag packs, more luggages, and just a few stores with ones I would carry. Got myself one, but didn't manage to find any other nicer ones so I gave up!

We were also looking for cute luggages (ones that could be hand-carried on board) but to no avail. Then it was like magic, bb turned and called out to me (haha like so magical~) and we found a shop selling really cute luggages, polka-dot ones!! So I got one in red! :D It was like SGD20 only? Hehe greatest buy!

Isn't it ridiculously cute beside those big luggages lol
After getting the luggage and some clothes, we walked towards Central World, it's a 10mins walk from Plat mall to Central World. Along the way, we managed to find the same vendor selling the fried chicken wings I had in day 2!! Being more kiasu this time round, I bought 5 hehe. That's THB7 each, so THB35 ~SGD1.40 for 5 chicken wings. In Sg one chicken wing is already that price!

Eating without me. %#@$#!@$!@#
Even looking at the plastic bag can make me crave for them wtf.
After having the chicken wings, we went into Central World and had drinks at a restaurant. I ordered ice mango but the waitress heard ice milo instead :( Bb said it was my fault because I talk really fast? We were actually waiting for time to pass then to head back to the hotel to collect our luggage, because our flight was at 9pm so we had a loooooot of time to ourselves! Once we reach the hotel we requested for a cab to the airport.

Finally on the cab, with my luggage! It's small enough to fit into the small compartment next to me.
On the highway towards the airport!

Last photo of me with our luggage. Very happy but sad at the same time :(
It cost us around THB300 from the hotel to the airport, this was excluding the toll charges and tips we gave to the driver. So maybe THB400 should be enough? ~SGD16.40 and it is considered very cheap already compared to SG taxi fares, right?! Taxi from my house to work (harbourfront) and it's already $25! Mygoose.

We had our dinner at one of the many restaurants located on the second floor after checking in. I think it was Lee restaurant? Expensive meal compared to the food we had in the city, but a great meal nevertheless. Flight was at 9pm BKK time and we reached SG at 1am sharp.

Bb parents came to pick us up and we had dimsum before heading home to rest. Really thankful for them if not we'd have to take taxi and with the midnight charge... I don't dare to imagine. And also very very thankful to have bb accompany me for this trip. Thanks for shopping with me and never complaining, thanks for being such a great bf :)

Darling's big day!

It was bb's birthday on 22 June.
His parents suggested dim sum and lunch at a hotel at town!
I think it was at Goodwood Park Hotel (thinkkkkkk)

 ❤

Clockwise: In the car > At the restaurant > Yummy egg tarts! > His parents

Better! (Updates)

While brushing my teeth I actually managed to see the black strands (stitches from my gums) so I went ahead to touch them haha. Feels weird but great at the same time cos being able to open my mouth means that it's not swollen/painful anymore! Removing stitches on the 28th, 2 more days to go! And gonna meet bb tmr for a movie and dinner, can't wait! :)

I'm sad, but there's nothing I could do anymore. So I told myself to be more positive. At least I get to rest a little??

Bangkok Trip 2012 (15-18 June)

Day 2

Chatuchak day! Had the complimentary buffet breakfast before setting off!

Wearing similar tops!

Really yummy buffet breakfast.
Went for many rounds hehe, I love hotel breakfast the most!

How the buffet area looks like.

After settling breakfast, I was thinking of taking the cab to Chatuchak but I heard about the horrible traffic jams nearby that area so we decided to take the BTS there instead!

On the tuktuk!

Requested for the hotel tuktuk to send us to the nearby BTS station and from there we bought tickets to Mo Chit station. I think the whole journey took 10-15 minutes? Really fast! There's quite a number of people alighting at the same station, so we just followed behind the crowd and within mins we reached the famous market!

Really regretted because I didn't take a single pic of Chatuchak market lol! Scared of dropping my phone so I just kept it in my bag the whole time -_-

There were already quite a number of stalls around the BTS so we started there! Some were selling cute handmade keychains, wallets, phone plugs, watch and all. Lowest price I saw for a handmade keychain is only THB20! ~SGD0.80 only! Whereas for wallets and watches it was around THB100? ~SGD4.10! Very cheap!! I should have bought more!!! :(

Had the famous coconut icecream in the middle of Chatuchak, which is the clock tower! There were steps there so we just bought icecream to share and also to stop for a rest.

Tip: Bring along a portable fan! It is VERY hot at Chatuchak.

My super black feet after conquering Chatuchak market!
Another tip! Wear slippers there!!

We were dirty and feeling yucky after finishing the whole Chatuchak market so at around 2pm we decided to head back to the hotel to wash up! I think we finished Chatuchak market because we started off at the BTS station and we managed to walk a whole round and end up back at the BTS station again!

We were just lucky we managed to find an exit. Before we found the exit, I was so worried we would get lost and hungry and angry and all haha.

Back at the hotel for a short rest and by 3pm we were all ready to head out! Decided on Central World (nearby Plat mall)! It's like a more modern shopping centre with brands like F21, Uniqlo, breadtalk (lol), and many many more!! Bought bb his new DC top at Central World too! :)

Very happy on the cab. Airconnnn *_*

Same shirt lol! Because we're cool like that

When we were on the cab to Central World, there were slight traffic jams so as we were nearing the mall, the driver told us we could just walk via the overhead bridge as it was linked to the mall. It was his way of telling us to get off, so we just did as told lol!

Central world was kinda boring because the shops were all similar to shops we have in our malls, so we just walked to Plat mall after that. Tried street food while walking to Plat mall! Bought really yummy pork skewers and fried chicken wings. It rained at 5++pm! I forgot to bring along my umbrella so remember yr umbrellas!!

Day 2 ended at Plat mall! As usual we bought food back to the hotel for supper lol glutttttons.
Places visited for Day 2: Chatuchak, Central World, Platinum mall (againnnnn)

Bangkok Trip 2012 (15-18 June)

Went to BKK with baby from 15-18 June! Actually we didn't really visit or went to any tourist attractions because my whole mind was 'shop, shop, shop!!!' haha so yes, shopping for all four days in BKK, check!

This was actually what I saved on my iPhone -_- I know, super fail at planning an itinerary. I tried my best already!! But anyway we didn't really follow the plans, normally before we sleep bb will ask me where I'd want to head to for the next day, then I'd say 'shopping lor', then yepppp shopping it is.

We took Tiger Airways, mainly cos it's the cheapest + the timings were what I wanted. Tip is to choose the earliest flight over (or a timing that is nearer to your hotel check-in time), and take the latest flight back home so you can shop for at least half a day before heading to the airport!

Day 1

Left the house at 8+am, bb's parents were really nice to send us to the airport :)
Checked in real early cos' I always read blogs about ppl checking in late and running to their gate. I wouldn't want that!!

EMPTY gate

Took this after boarding!

I basically slept throughout the whole journey because I slept at 3am and woke up at 7am that morning. Normally when I'm too excited I can't sleep!!

Reached Bangkok at 12:15pm! (They are an hour slower than us)

First thing we did was to get SIM cards to contact our family and also to call the hotel to pick us up. Impatient me queued up at one of the counters with shorter queue and er... the SIM card we purchased only enabled 1 free day of 3G on top of the usuals (call, SMS). 90baht only though! ~SGD3.60! Tip: If you have the time, queue up at all the telco companies and ask about their deal before purchasing hehe.

And our first meal at BKK: Subway -_- Same price as SG, but they had bacon!

Shared a luggage with bb, so we had 1 big luggage + a smaller bag I carried with me for our valuables ($$). My plan was to buy another luggage from BKK to place all our buys in. But seriously 1 luggage for both of us was more than enough! Tip: Also carry another foldable hand-carry bag in the luggage. Just in case there's not enough space/luggage overweight!

We took the airport rail link from the airport to the city. They have 2 kinds of train, one is the express train which is slightly expensive and another train which will stop at all the stations (longer time taken). We wanted to take the express train but it just left the station, so since it's cheaper anyway, we bought the tickets for the other train. 2 pax for THB90 ~SGD 3.60!

On the airport rail link!
Pic on the left: Rural area. Pic on the right: City area.

The airport rail link will stop at a station called Phaya Thai, and this station is also one of the station on the BTS. So we got off at Phaya Thai airport rail link station, boarded the BTS, and continued taking the BTS to our stop (Phloen Chit)

When we reached Phloen Chit station, I called the hotel (Tenface Bangkok Hotel) to pick us up in their tuktuk! (As our hotel is a newly opened small boutique hotel, they actually provide complimentary 24 hrs tuktuk to pick up their hotel guests, so cool right!)

In our one-bedroom suite!

I don't know what else to say about the hotel/room other than... SUPERB!!! I love it sooooo much. There's a living room, a bedroom with toilet WITH bathtub (that's very impt right haha) + a closet area. Really huge! We paid SGD150/pax and it was super worth it! When I stepped into the room I was like 'woah, I like'

Got ready to head to Platinum mall after relaxing for a little while! I went crazy in the mall haha so no pictures taken at all. I remembered to take pictures only after shopping hehe. Took a cab to Plat mall from the hotel, meter and it cost... THB45 ~SGD1.80 ohmaigoose

Ate at their foodcourt! Whelllllly cheap! THB40 per pax ~SGD1.60

Before we even started shopping, we walked past Swensens and I remember telling bb 'we HAVE to eat this after dinner'. And we did, after dinner! Super cheap and yummy! We ordered a chocolate milkshake and a chocolate icecream with waffle and banananananana. Total cost was THB178 ~SGD7.30

Served with ice water promptly!

Tip time!!! Tabao food back to the hotel! Cheap and yummy why not!

Hello yummies, I will be back for you. Wait for me.
After having a mouthful of both, I COULDN'T stop.
I was smiling, eating, and saying 'food orgasm' LOL

We wanted to take a cab back to the hotel actually, but it was getting late so NONE of the cab wanted to switch on their meter and were quoting like THB200!! Outrageous, that's like 5 times the price of when we took from the hotel to the mall!

We actually walked along the street (and got more clothes too hehe) and before we know it, reached Ratchaprarop BTS station! Took the BTS back to our station and then called for the complimentary hotel tuktuk to bring us back to the hotel!

The hotel was really sweet to provide us with cookies+fruits during our stay :)

Fooooood

Ended day 1 with the complimentary movies provided by the hotel! There's a TV in both the living rm and our bedroom. Sigh, I love you Bangkok. Day 2 up soon!! :)
